My gosh, have you SEEN how many negative “resources” pop-up when you Google “traveling with kids”… or even worse “traveling with infant”?! And don’t even get me started on how many popular travel thought leaders are telling you not to take your kids to Hawaii when you Google that one, too.
I’ve done it. Is it as easy as traveling without kids? Well, no. But it’s certainly not as terrible as I’m sure many of your family, friends, and opinionated strangers on the street have warned you it is (many of whom have never even done it themselves for that matter.)
So that’s where Travel Is For the Kids comes in. A place where you can find real information that will neither give false expectations nor discourage you from giving yourself and your children the gift of travel. Trust me, life does not end when you have kids and traveling doesn’t have to, either!

Claire and me in Florence when she was 14weeks. Wondering what Claire’s wearing? Me too-but for our first international adventure as a new family of three, I was just happy we got out the door and made our flight in time.
Now, I’m not saying that I’ve done it all-I have tons of friends and acquaintances with families who have traveled much more than I have, and hopefully they will contribute to give a more complete picture to make this site the premier resource for families who want to travel with kids.
But, Google needs a better place for moms to go to with their kid travel related questions than what’s already out there. A site that has real moms (not models) with an easy to navigate site to find your answers, and to find them quickly, because no mom has the time to scroll for days.

Claire (about 16 months) and I spent a week in Paris together while my husband, Clem, was working in Germany. Tackling a time change of 9 hours with a baby/toddler isn’t the easiest, but I wouldn’t trade the memories for anything.
So here is what you will see and can expect from me, Mo:
Real pictures, tips and ideas from trips that I’ve actually taken.
My own personal opinions on my blog where you can learn more about my thoughts and ideas on parenting and life.
Me, being me. That includes all the yoga pants and 4-day old hair that comes along with it. 🙂
My daughter, being my daughter. Crying spells on the kitchen floor and all.
And here’s what you won’t see:
Me traveling outside my comfort zone just for the sake of it. I’m huge on doing what is within your boundaries in parenting and in travel. Everybody’s threshold is different, and it changes as time goes on and you gain new experiences. What’s outside my comfort zone today? Traveling to third world countries with my toddler. Maybe it’ll change, but maybe it won’t.
We aren’t selling all of our things to travel around the world. Sounds like a cool idea, but not for us. I like to come home to my bed, say hi to my neighbors, get Minnie Mouse cookies from our neighborhood bakery and go back to being a part of our community at the end of a trip.
Using social media to the detriment of my family. I will not take pics until my daughter cries (as I’ve seen some bloggers do), I will not ruin the moment for the sake of a post and I won’t be on my phone instead of interacting with my family. Social media will just have to wait, because life never does!
Camping. Definitely not camping. 🙂
So search around, find the travel information you are looking for, and stick around to get to know us. Some days we’re thriving, and some days we’re just surviving. And that’s ok.

See the drool? Where was the bib for this one at the Roman Colosseum?!
