You would think that for the amount of time we spend in a hotel that we would have a pack and play.  Nope!

When we were doing our baby registry, it seemed like such a waste of space for us… especially living in a in a tiny NYC one-bedroom apartment! It turns out we have never need it.

Just Think About It…

Every major hotel that you stay in will have them- and if you call ahead and they don’t, there are plenty of ones that do!

There are tons or things that you find yourself packing when you travel with kids. Do you really need to bring a pack and play along with you, too?

Staying at your parent’s house?  If they don’t have one, they probably know a fellow grandparent who they can borrow from.

Staying at a friend’s house?  They probably have one or know a friend who has one.

One argument why people elect to have a pack and play is to use as a safe play space when your child is young. I find it to be too small of an enclosure to last very long and I instead used an outdoor play pen An outdoor play pen was also more practical since it served a dual purpose for use inside or outside and was therefore, a better use of space. You can easily take to your backyard, a park or the beach and provides much more play space so it will last longer as your child gets bigger.

Really examining the beneifts, a pack and play just wasn’t worth it for us and wouldn’t be used at home at all either.

Verdict: Don’t waste your money!
